There is an interesting background to the Cambodia gambling dens that sit just over the dividing line from nearby Thailand, where casino gambling is against the law. Eight gambling dens are established in a relatively small area in the city of Poipet in Cambodia. This conclave of Cambodia gambling dens is in a perfect spot, a three to four hour travel from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 largest gaming locations in Asia. Ownership is required to be mostly Thai; although, investment sources are vague. Also, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 slot machine games and 66 of the normal gaming tables, as well as 1 table of Casino Stud Poker. Another one of the 8 gambling halls in Poipet, also a part of a motel, is the Princess Casino with 166 slot machine games and 97 games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in an all-inclusive resort and hotel building that contains numerous conveniences on top of the gambling hall, which has ten thousand square feet of 130 one armed bandits and 88 table games.
