The prospect of living in Zimbabwe is something of a gamble at the moment, so you may imagine that there would be very little affinity for visiting Zimbabwe’s gambling halls. In fact, it appears to be working the other way, with the awful economic conditions creating a higher desire to bet, to try and locate a fast win, a way from the difficulty.

For many of the locals subsisting on the abysmal nearby earnings, there are 2 popular forms of gaming, the national lottery and Zimbet. As with most everywhere else in the world, there is a state lotto where the chances of hitting are unbelievably tiny, but then the winnings are also remarkably high. It’s been said by financial experts who look at the situation that many don’t purchase a ticket with the rational assumption of profiting. Zimbet is founded on either the national or the English football leagues and involves determining the results of future matches.

Zimbabwe’s casinos, on the other shoe, pander to the exceedingly rich of the nation and vacationers. Up until a short while ago, there was a very big vacationing business, founded on safaris and trips to Victoria Falls. The market woes and associated crime have carved into this trade.

Among Zimbabwe’s gambling dens, there are 2 in the capital, Harare, the Carribea Bay Resort and Casino, which has 5 gaming tables and slot machines, and the Plumtree gambling hall, which has just the slots. The Zambesi Valley Hotel and Entertainment Center in Kariba also has just slot machines. Mutare contains the Monclair Hotel and Casino and the Leopard Rock Hotel and Casino, the two of which contain gaming tables, slots and video poker machines, and Victoria Falls houses the Elephant Hills Hotel and Casino and the Makasa Sun Hotel and Casino, the pair of which offer video poker machines and blackjack, roulette, and craps tables.

In addition to Zimbabwe’s casinos and the aforementioned mentioned lottery and Zimbet (which is very like a parimutuel betting system), there is a total of two horse racing complexes in the nation: the Matabeleland Turf Club in Bulawayo (the 2nd municipality) and the Borrowdale Park in Harare.

Since the economy has deflated by beyond 40% in recent years and with the associated deprivation and conflict that has cropped up, it isn’t well-known how healthy the vacationing business which supports Zimbabwe’s gambling dens will do in the next few years. How many of the casinos will carry on until things get better is merely unknown.
