The entire process of living in Zimbabwe is something of a risk at the current time, so you could envision that there would be very little affinity for going to Zimbabwe’s gambling halls. Actually, it appears to be operating the other way around, with the crucial economic circumstances creating a greater desire to wager, to attempt to discover a quick win, a way from the situation.
For many of the people subsisting on the abysmal nearby wages, there are 2 common types of gambling, the state lottery and Zimbet. As with most everywhere else in the world, there is a national lottery where the chances of succeeding are unbelievably low, but then the prizes are also remarkably big. It’s been said by financial experts who study the idea that many don’t buy a card with an actual belief of winning. Zimbet is centered on one of the national or the United Kingston soccer divisions and involves determining the outcomes of future matches.
Zimbabwe’s casinos, on the other hand, look after the very rich of the society and tourists. Up till recently, there was a considerably substantial tourist industry, founded on nature trips and trips to Victoria Falls. The market woes and associated violence have cut into this market.
Among Zimbabwe’s gambling dens, there are two in the capital, Harare, the Carribea Bay Resort and Casino, which has five gaming tables and slot machines, and the Plumtree gambling den, which has only slot machine games. The Zambesi Valley Hotel and Entertainment Center in Kariba also has only slots. Mutare contains the Monclair Hotel and Casino and the Leopard Rock Hotel and Casino, the pair of which have gaming tables, slot machines and electronic poker machines, and Victoria Falls houses the Elephant Hills Hotel and Casino and the Makasa Sun Hotel and Casino, the pair of which offer video poker machines and blackjack, roulette, and craps tables.
In addition to Zimbabwe’s casinos and the aforementioned talked about lottery and Zimbet (which is quite like a parimutuel betting system), there is a total of two horse racing tracks in the country: the Matabeleland Turf Club in Bulawayo (the second municipality) and the Borrowdale Park in Harare.
Since the market has contracted by more than 40 percent in the past few years and with the associated poverty and conflict that has cropped up, it is not understood how well the vacationing industry which funds Zimbabwe’s casinos will do in the near future. How many of the casinos will carry on until things get better is basically not known.
