In the later 60s and early 70s, the Las Vegas holiday industry certainly took off. This is largely due to the efforts to recreate the appearance of Vegas into a pleasure garden for adults.

The Vegas of that period was full of glitzy gambling dens, big-ticket entertainment, and lounges that were open night and day. You could see a show, gamble all evening, toss back a drink with breakfast, catch a wink for a number of hours before doing it all over again in a Sin City getaway during those times.

The essence of a Las Vegas getaway became something totally different in the early 90. Las Vegas gambling dens started to allure families who were vacationing as a group with the appearance of rides like New York New York’s roller coaster and MGM Grand’s child accommodating atmosphere.

Gambling den owners recognized they could attract the all-night bettors and high rollers while catering to a totally new crowd, the families, who bring their own dollars to take in the Vegas sands. As an outcome, kid friendly shows, eatery’s, and attractions began to appear. Many gambling dens also provided kid entertainment locations so the parents can still head off to have a beverage and wager.

The current Las Vegas holiday act as a strange hybrid between the adult and child’s playground.
